Regulation of stablecoins: how are new currencies controlled?

Special attention is now paid to the regulation of stablecoins in the European Union. Several countries have already approached the European Commission with a request to adopt regulations that would help control the release and circulation of stablecoins.

In response, a draft of the “REGULATION OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL on Markets in Crypto-assets” Directive was issued. Most likely, it will come into force no earlier than 2022 and will concern such points as KYC for investors and buyers, marketing communications of issuing companies, as well as the development of white papers.
